John, the future of the Democratic party is a bright one – and a progressive one. 

I’m feeling so fired up by the news that Kamala Harris has selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate! 

He has all the makings of a wonderful second-in-command: he is unwavering in his principles, dedicated to public service, and an excellent leader. (And on a personal note, it doesn’t hurt that he and I have both been social studies teachers!) 

Although Minnesota may be hundreds of miles away, Governor Walz has advocated for his constituents in a way that should make Vermonters proud. We share many issues and priorities, from empowering rural communities to tackling food insecurity and protecting our LGBTQ+ friends and neighbors. 

Our work is all interconnected, and I know that with President Kamala Harris and Vice President Tim Walz, we will keep pushing forward.
