As you may have heard by now, fellow Minnesotan and my friend, Governor Tim Walz, is Kamala Harris' pick for Vice President of the United States.
First of all, I'd like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Governor Walz.
Governor Walz is a veteran, a teachers union member, and a leader who has passed transformative progressive policies here in our home state, and I believe he is the best choice for our country's future, and for our movement's chances to defeat Donald Trump and JD Vance in November.
I've had the pleasure of working with the governor and organizing our movement together around a number of issues, and the success of landmark policies in Minnesota has shown they can and will work nationwide.
I'm so proud that — with the governor's support and unwavering political courage — our movement has turned Minnesota into a model of what real progressive change looks like in our country.
A state where no child is forced to go hungry, through our universal school meals program.
Where working people have some of the strongest labor protections in the nation, by establishing paid family and medical leave, guaranteeing paid sick days, and improving worker safety.
Where we combat the climate crisis head-on, moving away from fossil fuels and committing to a 100% clean energy standard by 2040.
Where the right to an abortion is protected by law, and women are free to make their own healthcare decisions.
Where we don't send immigrants and refugees back to where they came from — we send them to Congress.
I'm confident that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz will not only defeat Donald Trump this November, they’ll lead the charge in enacting successful, popular, and progressive policies like Minnesota's at the federal level and implement them nationwide for years to come.
I'm ready to fight alongside Kamala and Tim to get the job done. But our movement knows that the only way we can do that is if we're all in that fight together.
So please:
Will you make a contribution to stand with our people-powered campaign today so we can work to put transformative, progressive policies at the top of the national agenda? With seven days to go until our primary here in Minnesota, anything you can chip in means so much.

This election is an incredible opportunity to create the America I dreamed about as a young girl and as a refugee — a country where anything is possible.
Thank you for being a part of making that dream a reality.
In solidarity,
Ilhan
