Big news! Vice President Kamala Harris has chosen former member of the U.S. House and current Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate. Now that Kamala Harris has received enough delegate support to become the official nominee, it's clear which presidential ticket will protect our rights, expand our freedoms, and build a future for all of us.
By every measure, Tim Walz would be a better vice president than JD Vance.
✅ Walz supports reproductive freedom.
As governor he signed a law protecting people seeking or providing abortions in Minnesota.
❌ JD Vance wants to ban abortion nationwide and voted against the Right to IVF Act.
✅ Walz supports LGBTQ+ rights.
He was an early public supporter of the legalization of same-sex marriage. As governor, he signed a law banning the practice of conversion therapy for LGBTQ+ people and a law protecting people seeking or providing gender-affirming health care in Minnesota.
❌ JD Vance voted against the Respect for Marriage Act.
✅ Walz supports students and educators.
Walz was a long-time educator. As governor, he signed a budget that provides the largest increase in per-pupil funding in the state in more than a decade, will help teachers retire with pensions a year earlier, and invests in increasing the number of teachers of color statewide. He also signed into law Minnesota’s universal free meals program, providing breakfast and lunch to each student regardless of their family’s income.
❌ JD Vance is vocally anti-DEI in schools and anti-affirmative action in universities, and has rallied against what he calls “left-wing domination” in higher education.
