We're not stopping yet! Virtual activities are still going on, featuring runs, gardening, meditation, and more
Hi Supporter,
As I reflect during these last days of Earth month, I feel a renewed sense of appreciation and commitment to taking better care of our planet.
As a kid, whenever I was sad or upset, I'd seek comfort in the outdoors. Whether it was in my backyard for fresh air, a swim, or to just lay on the grass in the sun, I'd go outside, and I always felt better. Time and time again, I still find that challenging moments in my life can be calmed by fresh air, a brisk walk, or admiring spring flowers. As an adult living through this COVID-19 pandemic, doing my best to stay home and keep my family safe and healthy, I find myself gravitating to the outdoors more than ever. The outdoors provides a much needed break from the stresses of life.
During this time, my gratitude for the outdoors has been greatly reinforced. We've been forced to "stop and smell the roses" and to give our planet a much needed break from some of our bad habits and destructive behaviors. Pictures of smogless sky lines and clearer waters have been a silver lining in the face of so much uncertainty, but they also represent an opportunity and need for us to do better by our Earth. I hope that when things return to "normal" we don't fall back into our old ways. I hope that we all find a renewed sense of commitment to enjoy the outdoors even more, and also take better care of our planet for future generations.

MasPaz
The Smithsonian Institution, Corcoran Gallery of Art
y The New Museum.
