Anais Jimenez
North Valley Organizer
I became an organizer because I believe in the power of voting and the importance of maintaining a strong Democratic presence in our nation. I am passionate about empowering people with the knowledge they need to make their voices heard both in their communities and at the ballot box. As a lifelong Democrat, I am committed to advancing issues such as reproductive freedom, immigration rights, and robust union support. I firmly believe that without essential freedoms for all, our democracy cannot thrive, and equality remains out of reach. Electing Democratic leaders ensures fair representation for everyone.
In my role with the California Democratic Party, I am excited to educate communities about this year's elections, spotlight key races, and encourage engagement. Through our canvassing and phone banking efforts, I am proud to work with a dedicated team to mobilize volunteers across California, aiming to take back the House and elect California’s very own Vice President Kamala Harris as President of the United States.

Intern
I graduated from Hart High School in 2022 and am now a rising third-year student at UC Santa Barbara, where I'm double majoring in political science and environmental studies. I grew up in Santa Clarita, California.
My journey into politics began in 2018 when I took part in a local March for Our Lives event. This experience sparked my passion for activism, leading me to become an active member of my high school’s Students Demand Action chapter. I was involved in voter registration efforts and worked at polling stations. At UCSB, my involvement continues through Campus Democrats and the Environmental Leadership Incubator.
I am deeply passionate about several issues, including climate justice, common-sense gun legislation, LGBTQ+ equality, and reproductive justice. My current focus is on engaging more young people in voting and political activities. By fostering this involvement, I aim to contribute to building a strong democratic foundation and winning battleground seats across California.

Intern
I am currently attending College of the Sequoias and hail from Corcoran, California.
My journey into organizing and embracing the Democratic Party began when I helped my uncle with canvassing. This experience was incredibly informative and sparked my interest in politics, leading me to become an active member of the Democratic Party.
In my role as an organizer, I am particularly passionate about engaging with my community and inspiring people my age to get involved. To help build a stronger democratic presence in California, I am committed to making phone calls for phone banking efforts and reaching out to nearby community colleges, such as College of the Sequoias and Fresno State. My goal is to encourage voter registration and discuss the benefits of the Democratic Party with students and local residents.

Barbara Smith
I’m Barbara, a San Francisco native and lifelong Democrat. In late 2015, I moved to Placer County from Elk Grove after retiring from a fulfilling twenty-five-year career as an elementary school teacher.
My journey into activism began in January 2017, right after the 2016 election. Over the next year, I dove headfirst into Democratic politics. I joined various Democratic clubs, took on leadership roles, participated in protests and rallies, spoke at congressional town halls, and contributed to club newsletters and letters to the editor.
My commitment to activism stretches beyond Placer County. I’ve collaborated with activists across Placer, Nevada, and El Dorado Counties. I’m an elected member of the Placer Democratic Party Central Committee, where I serve as the second Vice-Chair. I also chair the Central Committee's Community Engagement Committee, which focuses on voter outreach and engagement. As a delegate to the California Democratic Party, I’m actively involved with the Organizing Committee as well.
My drive for political involvement is deeply personal. I’m passionate about securing a better future for my grandchildren and children everywhere. I believe that electing Democrats who champion progressive values is crucial for building a more inclusive and equitable society, and I’m dedicated to making that vision a reality.
