Today’s rain brings desperate relief to our community in Keller, Washington and the Colville Reservation.
Fire crews have been meticulously drawing the Swawilla Fire away from homes and towards Jack Creek, and because of everyone's tireless efforts, have managed to contain nearly 85% of the Fire.
This may not be your typical “Get-Out-The-Vote” message just a day before the primary but this is more important than campaigning. Today, I was out on the fireline meeting with local leaders, and impacted community members alongside our current Commissioner of Public Lands.
Let me level with you. My opponents are career politicians with huge rolodexes of rich friends. While I’m doing the work right now that a Public Lands Commissioner needs to do to protect Washingtonians, they’re dialing for dollars. That puts me at a huge disadvantage and one that a normal campaign couldn’t overcome.
But this isn’t a normal campaign. Your support has already made history. Now, my team has a plan to rev up voter outreach in the next 24 hours and get as many ballots returned as possible – but we need to raise $2,700 today to fund the plan.

Our next Lands Commissioner will play a critical role in tackling environmental challenges – like these wildfires – head-on.
The Department of Natural Resources manages nearly 6 million acres of public lands and we need someone prepared to care for them ALL.
This isn’t a job for a politician who will use it as a stepping stone for higher office.
I need to get back to the line – but if you’re with me, please make a donation today so we can get through this primary!
