John,

Tuesday May 5 is #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of giving and
unity created in response to the unprecedented need caused by
COVID-19.

The organizers of #GivingTuesdayNow say that "generosity has
the power to unite and heal communities in good times and bad."
We agree.

We're grateful for our community - thousands of members
and public land supporters - who do so much to transform
communities across the country. You are a valued member of that
community, and so a generous patron who wishes to remain anonymous has
an exciting offer for you.

They will match your #GivingTuesdayNow gift $2-for-$1. In fact, they will triple match every gift we receive from now until
midnight on May 5 up to a total of $250,000.

When you donate $25, they will match it with $50 of their own
... turning your gift into $75. When you donate $35, they will
make it $105. Your generous gift of $50 will become $150.

Yes, that's right. The #GivingTuesdayNow gift you give
today will triple in size and strength.

As you may know, the work of The Trust for Public Land has not
been slowed down by the current situation. We've protected 12
new places just in the last six weeks - including creating a
new state park with our partners in Colorado. We are in the process of
protecting several more pieces of land for public use ... and that
process continues. We are working with residents in several different
communities, planning neighborhood parks and playgrounds ... and
that planning continues. We are committed to protecting 1,000 miles of
rivers in the next five years ... and that commitment continues.

But as we move into this new recession, parks and public lands are
in more danger now than ever of being robbed of federal funding. We
will not let that happen. We need you to stand with us to ensure that
public lands and parks are a priority in our recovery.

The Trust for Public land is a non-profit organization. Even in
the best of times, the resources we need in order to operate -
as well as our very survival - are completely dependent on the
generosity of people like you. That is even more true now as we try to
weather the current crisis. Your #GivingTuesdayNow gift - which
will be tripled - will sustain our vital work through any
challenges ahead.

Thank you in advance for continuing to stand with us. I hope you and
your loved ones remain safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Kim Elliot
