It’s no secret that the Supreme Court is in a legitimacy crisis of its own making.

Last year, ProPublica exposed Justice Thomas for accepting luxury trips from billionaire donor Harlan Crow almost every year for over 20 years without disclosing them. Crow also paid for the boarding school tuition for Thomas’s grandnephew and bought properties from Thomas. Not to mention his luxury $270,000 RV that one of his other wealthy friends paid for…

And in May, the New York Times broke the story that Justice Alito’s houses flew flags associated with the "Stop the Steal" movement while refusing to recuse himself from cases related to the January 6 insurrection and the 2020 election. Oh, and he too accepted a luxury fishing trip in 2008 from another billionaire, Paul Singer, who had cases before the Supreme Court.

We’re calling for Justices Alito and Thomas to both resign, for the good of the country and credibility of the Court.

But John, overhauling the Supreme Court’s ethics regime is also long overdue. That’s why here at CREW, we’re so glad to see President Biden calling for Supreme Court term limits, a binding code of conduct and an end to presidential immunity.

These bold reforms would help restore trust and accountability to the court and our democracy.

So today, we’re asking you to show the White House that this plan for Supreme Court reform has support across the country.
