John,
Last week my team and I joined canvassers knocking on doors in St. Louis to re-elect Congresswoman Cori Bush:
Anti-Palestinian group AIPAC has spent over $10 million to drown out Cori Bush’s courageous voice for peace, including flooding mailboxes and airwaves with dehumanizing and racist attacks against her. Her anti-ceasefire opponent is now the #1 recipient of AIPAC money this election cycle.
We need to call Congresswoman Cori Bush’s supporters and ensure they have the information on where and when to vote TOMORROW, which is Election Day in Missouri (and my home state of Michigan). Our allies at the Working Families Party are leading phonebank shifts for volunteers, including people who’ve never phonebanked before. You’ll get training; all you need is a computer with an internet connection.
Please sign up to make calls today or tomorrow to stand up to AIPAC and keep ceasefire champion Cori Bush by my side in Congress.
Together, we can keep Cori in office representing the majority of Americans, who are saying they want a ceasefire and an arms embargo now.
Cori is an activist like me, and she has been a fierce champion against state violence since the Ferguson uprisings. In Congress, she camped on the steps of the U.S. Capitol for five days to stop evictions and keep millions of Americans in their homes. She’s demanding our government stop funding genocide and instead invest in what people need to live and thrive, including housing, Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and reproductive justice.
When AIPAC’s pro-Trump, anti-abortion megadonors interfere in our Democratic primary elections, they’re sending a message that they’ll come for elected officials who speak up for Palestinian freedom and for working class people.
As Cori said: “This is only the beginning. Because if they can unseat me, then they’re going to continue to come after more Democrats.” Already, too many members of Congress are afraid to speak out against genocide and apartheid, and many don’t understand the struggles of everyday Americans like Cori Bush does.
Unlike her opponent who’s taking money from Republican billionaires, Cori Bush is unbought and unbossed. We need to re-elect Congresswoman Cori Bush and send the message that our progressive movement is strong and that far-right billionaires cannot buy our elections.
Sign up to make calls tonight or tomorrow morning to turn out local voters to the polls for Cori Bush’s primary election tomorrow.
If you can’t phonebank today or tomorrow (Election Day!), could you send a donation now to Cori Bush’s re-election campaign so she has the resources to overcome AIPAC’s attacks and connect with voters?
Together, we will keep pushing our country to live up to its promises of a multi-racial democracy of, by, and for the people.
In solidarity,
Rashida
