Today officially marks 3 months until Election Day, team, and I’m on the ballot this year.
Right now, far too many Americans feel like their government isn’t really working for them. They know our broken campaign finance system allows billionaires and big corporations to drown out the voices of regular people.
Far-right special interests have captured the Supreme Court. Republicans in Washington are bending the legislative branch to the will of the rich right-wing special interests that fund their party. And Donald Trump is trying to capitalize on Americans’ frustration with the system to erode democracy itself.
As the Republican Party works through the three branches of the federal government to deliver for the ultra-rich, Democrats are fighting to grow the middle class and get working people a fair shot – by lowering costs for housing, prescription drugs, and education; protecting Social Security and Medicare; creating opportunity; and improving health care.
I’m fighting every day in the Senate to make our government work for the American people, and to break the secretive, creeping grasp of big special interests on our American levers of power.
If we want to expose the deep-pocketed interests blocking progress on the most pressing issues, we need to protect and expand Democrats’ Senate majority in November and keep Donald Trump out of the White House.
So I’m asking: 3 months out from Election Day, will you pitch in to support my re-election campaign and keep the Senate out of Republican hands?
