I have been deeply moved by the outpouring of support since announcing my diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma, a treatable blood cancer. I am responding well to treatment and fully expect to continue serving in Congress for years to come. Unfortunately, my doctors have advised me to limit travel and interactions due to the impact of chemotherapy on my immune system, which makes running for reelection more challenging.

With Trump on the ticket and a historically difficult Senate map, it is more important than ever to win back the House of Representatives. We must safeguard abortion access, protect the Affordable Care Act, implement the historic Infrastructure Act, and continue the fight against climate change.
