For a party that’s supposed to be all about “liberty,” Republicans spend a lot of time trying to restrict our fundamental freedoms.
Choosing who to marry and when to start a family are two of the most important — and personal — decisions a person makes. But Republicans, including my opponent, are determined to insert themselves into these decisions.
They want to ban same-sex marriage. They want to ban birth control and abortion, and punish people who choose not to have children. Trump has even said states should be able to monitor women’s pregnancies.
This weird obsession with LGBTQ+ rights and women’s bodies is about control, not freedom.
In Congress, Kirsten will fight to protect abortion, birth control, and same-sex marriage.
Her opponent, on the other hand, has voted to ban abortion pills, remove coverage for reproductive care, and block access to IVF. He’s called same-sex marriage “the end of society” and voted to slash funding from programs for LGBTQ+ Americans.
