2025 ADA Symposium
Call for Proposals

The Great Plains ADA Center is soliciting session proposals from those interested in presenting at either our in-person National ADA Symposium on June 15-18, 2025 in Atlanta, GA, or our virtual ADA Symposium May 5-7, 2025

The virtual Symposium sessions will all be 90 minutes long, and the in-person event sessions will be either two hours or 90 minutes long. If the content requires additional time, two-part sessions may be provided.

We will give consideration to any interesting topic submissions related to ADA implementation. However, special consideration will be given to topics relating to the following areas:

Digital Accessibility
Accessible Travel and Mobility
Law Enforcement/Corrections
Accessible Sport and Recreation
Inclusive Design
Employment
Title III/Small Business
Title II/ADA Coordinator

The deadline for all submissions is August 31st, 2024.

This year, our session proposal form is online! You no longer need to download the Microsoft Word document and email it back to us. Click the link below to access the online form.

This year we will have approximately 100 sessions for the in-person event and around 48 sessions for the virtual. Most session slots are already filled with pre-selected session topics from various federal agencies and top-evaluated speakers from past conferences. There could be less than 30 time slots available that will be selected from this RFP process. Competition will be high. We normally receive several hundred submissions each year.

All those submitting proposals will be notified no later than Friday, November 15, 2024, of our decision.

Thank you in advance for your interest, application, and willingness to make the National ADA Symposium a continued success. Feel free to share this with other colleagues and experts in the ADA field.

Respectfully yours,

Michael Edwards

The information below is from the  Southwest ADA Center about two surveys.

Service Animals & ESAs in the Workplace Study

The Southwest ADA Center at TIRR Memorial Hermann is conducting a study of workplace experiences of people with disabilities, aged 18 and up, who use service or emotional support animals. Participants will be interviewed by phone or Zoom, and their information will be kept confidential.

For more information, please contact Jocelyne Fajardo at [email protected] or call 713-797-7171 to schedule an interview.

Cancer Survivors Experience Survey:

The Southwest ADA Center at TIRR Memorial Hermann is conducting a national survey on cancer survivors' experiences and disability identity. This quick, 5-minute survey is for those over 18, who have been diagnosed with cancer, or had a history of having had cancer and reside in the U.S. Your input will help enhance support and awareness for cancer survivors.
