China's threat in Oklahoma: ALEX GRAY Published Monday, August 5, 2024 OKLAHOMA HISTORY CENTER 800 Nazih Zuhdi Drive, OKC, OK THIS WEDNESDAY Through multiple corporate layers, the Chinese Communist Party is developing curriculum for America's school children that directs them to look to government as their provider and caretaker. Snuffing these connections out requires fastidious work and a commitment to the restoration of American academia. Alex Gray was the Trump advisor on China during the Trump Presidency. In fact, Xi JinPing has made sure that Alex Gray's travel visa to China has been cancelled. Alex travels regularly to Washington, and often with Governor Stitt. He will talk to us this Wednesday about China in Oklahoma through more than our marijuana fields. ___________ Alex Gray served as Chief of Staff of the White House National Security Council during his four years in the Trump White House. His writings have been published in the Wall Street Journal, Foreign Policy, The Washington Times, National Review, Newsweek, Naval War College Review, the Oklahoman, and a multitude of other publications. He has appeared on television and radio throughout the world. Most importantly, he is the Vice Chairman of the OCPAC Foundation! Bring a friend!!! Send this Newsletter to another here. BOB LINN Power, Freedom, and the Destiny of Nations An old saying says that some men are born with saddles on their backs and others with boots and spurs to ride them. China's government, our topic this Wednesday, has saddled the backs of its people. For a ruling class to saddle a populous, it must first eviscerate God from the national identity. Then come man-made laws designed to ensure a prolonged reign of power to the ruling class and to instill in the citizenry a slave mentality. This coming Tuesday, Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch’s book, Over Ruled, will appear on book stands across the country. Gorsuch demonstrates that in America, an absurd explosion of man-made law over the past few decades represents an unbearable burden which has extracted an intolerable human toll on our citizens. The growth of government and the expansion of its laws are a product of the ever-growing thirst for man-centered power. The deepest division which can be observed between people is the divide between those who believe in power and those who believe in freedom. Mihajlo Mihajlov is known as the Solzhenitsyn of Yugoslavia. Throughout the West, he was called the clarion voice for freedom. In 1976, he published in America, Underground Notes. He writes: The deepest division which can be observed between people is the divide between those who believe in power and those who believe in freedom. The difference between those who believe in power and those who believe in freedom are considerably greater than any national characteristics. THE TRIAL OF THE CENTURY Former Communist spy, Whittaker Chambers, wrote of his central role in what is known as The Trial of the Century. In his massive book Witness, Chambers echoes Europe’s clarion voice of freedom when he writes: Two faiths were on trial. Human societies live by faith. At the heart of this Great Case was the critical conflict of faiths. The two irreconcilable faiths of our time. Communism [power] and Freedom. This is the struggle of the human soul. This tragedy will have been for nothing unless men understand it rightly, and from the world take hope and heart to begin its own tragic struggle with evil that besets it from within and from without. Chambers, once a spy for the Communist party, warned the world of the need to become aroused from a deep slumber. He wrote: I am an involuntary witness to God’s grace and to the fortifying power of faith. It was my fate to be in turn a witness to each of the two great faiths of our time. And so we come to the terrible word, Communism. In this century will be determined for generations whether all mankind is to become Communist, whether the whole world is to become free, or whether, in the struggle, civilization as we know it is to be completely destroyed. It is our fate to live upon that turning point of history. Chambers wrote these striking words in 1952. What he wrote seventy-two years ago could have been written this morning. We remain in the throes of the war between these two irreconcilable faiths. Ronald Reagan posthumously awarded Whittaker Chambers the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his important contribution to "the century's epic struggle between freedom and totalitarianism." As long as humanity speaks of virtue and dreams of freedom, the life and writings of Whittaker Chambers will ennoble and inspire. ~ Ronald Reagan The Polish historian and philosopher Laszek Kolakowski referred to the Chinese youth movement of Mao-Tse-Tung-ing as an element of the new left. He spoke of it as youth who believed in salvation by violence and dictatorship. He called it a symptom of the sinister illness which first struck Russian when, in 1917, Lenin and the Bolsheviks executed a violent revolution in Russia. The Bolsheviks became the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Dmitri Myerezhkovski wrote in his brilliant book on the Communist Revolution, Tsarstvo Antikhrista: Not on account of their own strength are the Bolsheviks powerful but only thanks to your weakness. They know what they want, but you do not know what you want. He then added: The deeper reason for all that has happened is found in the fact that vanishing Christianity has created enormous cavities in the civilized world and now everything is tumbling down. THERE ARE ESSENTIALLY ONLY TWO FAITHS When we speak of those who believe in power, we are speaking of those who see themselves as having been born with spurs. They see themselves as having been, by forces of random chance, enabled to deprive the rest of humanity of their freedom. These are the godless ones for whom there is no faith in God and no respect for the human soul. They see only a soulless humanity whose enslavement by any means provides them the power they seek. Oklahoma has been given a mandate by our Superintendent of Public Education to incorporate the Bible into the Oklahoma classroom in order to rediscover the foundations of our national heritage. It is a heritage founded upon a search for the political freedom a Christian nation is capable of providing. Our God-centered heritage has made us the hope of the nations. Given the opportunity, most of the world’s population would re-locate to America. This is in contrast to the godless nations who have to keep their people within their national boundaries by force. Unlike atheistic governments, Christianity affords the concept of freedom under the divine laws of civility. The concluding thoughts of the seventh chapter of Mihajlov’s Underground Notes: There are only two faiths in the world: the belief in God, the Creator of life and the universe, who made our souls immortal and consequently free; and the faith in the possibility of organizing an earthly paradise by human effort and understanding. That latter faith means to achieve earthly paradise by coercion [power], which is of course impossible if there is a God and he created the human soul immortal and free. Thus, the inevitable premise of the struggle against any Communist and non-Communist totalitarianism is the criticism of atheism. And, I wish to add, the need to remove atheism from our school’s science curriculum and everything else. May we rise up as Whittaker Chamber did and acknowledge our debt to God when he said: I do not know any way to explain why God’s grace touches a man who seems unworthy of it. But neither do I know any other way to explain how a man like myself-tarnished by life, unprepossessing, not brave-could prevail so far against the powers of the world arrayed almost solidly against him.
