Mortality charts can be misleading, as they may not accurately reflect the impact of vaccines on preventing deaths from diseases like pertussis. Anti-vaccine arguments suggesting that mortality rates fell before vaccines were introduced are flawed. Data from the UK shows a significant decrease in pertussis cases and deaths after the introduction of the DPT vaccine. Despite imperfections, vaccination remains crucial in protecting against pertussis.
