In The House of Belonging: Healing Church Hurt Through Church (Part 1) | Katelyn Dixon

"I will never forget the moment I realized that church could be a place to heal — not multiply — the vast collection of church-inflicted wounds I had carried around with me like an overstuffed suitcase. It happened over runny eggs at a greasy diner in Seattle, which I suppose is as good a place as any to change one’s mind about church." Read More

Theopoetics: Breathing Fresh Life Into Faith Communities (Part 1) | Michelle Winter

"Theopoetics is the study, use and respect for metaphors we use to understand and describe The Holy.Theopoetics is a non-creedal knowing, the spiritual impulse to reach for God, wonder at the vastness and minute details of Life, and make meaning beyond ourselves. These are the stories we tell, the songs we sing, the art we make." Read More
The Longest Night In The South: Winter Is A Time For Enchantment | Karina Kreminski

"I have always loved winter. Maybe it’s because of the fairy tales I read as a child. Most of them seemed to be set in snowy, enchanted forests. Magic happened whenever ice, the cold, and snowflakes were involved. I still think winter is a time for enchantment." Read More

In a supercharged world, with exceedingly high demands, and an ever-increasing level of social and spiritual complexity, Christian leaders need time to unplug and reflect.  Periodically, it’s essential to answer the question, “Why should I stay in this work?” Missio Alliance has created the Why Stay retreat to give weary leaders time and space to rest and ask these crucial questions.

Could Why Stay be on your horizon this Fall? Check out our webpage for more information and register soon. We keep this retreat limited to just 10 people, and spaces are filling up quickly!

As missional practitioners we desire to embody a holistic witness in the places we live, work and play. We long for a fulfilling whole-life faith that makes sense to us and to the world.

Join us and our partners at the Movement Leaders Collective beginning in October for an online learning community that guides us through an examination of our internal and external practices around formation, justice, and mission as a pathway to integrated whole-life faith and embodied authentic witness.

TABLE TALKS
At Missio Alliance, our desire is not only to provide theologically-robust and culturally-relevant content and resources for the church, but also to come alongside local communities as they contextualize and implement these resources, and cultivate an imagination for holistic witness in their local settings. We believe that a great place to start is at the table.

Table Talks are coming in September! Stay tuned for more information.
With so many opportunities on the horizon, it can feel overwhelming to discern what to step into and what to step away from. The requests for your attention, time, and financial resources will be myriad, and it will be impossible to say yes to everything. For this month’s brave practice, we offer the following prayer.

God of endless time, resources and capacity. You know me completely; my desires, motivations, passions, and interests. Likewise, you are fully acquainted with my limitations. Unlike you, I have limited time, resources, and capacity. You are pleased when I say yes, and you are pleased when I say no. Tend to me as I look ahead at the opportunities you’ve placed at my feet. Discern with me as I determine what to say yes to, and what to say no to. Find me ever faithful to you, for the sake of your glory and your Kingdom. Amen
