As the week winds down, we’re taking a moment to highlight some of the great things that EDF members like you did for Earth Day this year.
You’ve sent more than 78,000 messages (and counting!) to Congress demanding a better future for 100% of us – blowing our original Earth Day goal of 50,000 messages out of the water.
You also beat our $50,000 Earth Day fundraising goal, contributing more than $77,000 together.
And a few notable EDF supporters honored us with incredible displays of generosity on Earth Day:
Popular YouTube content creators Markiplier and Jackscepticeye announced they will give EDF 10% of the proceeds from sales of their CLOAK clothing line’s new “Love Your Mother” collection, launched on Earth Day. The new line was so popular that some items sold out in less than 24 hours!
Brooklyn-based painter Robin F. Williams chose EDF to receive proceeds from the Earth Day release of her first print edition, Earth Prayer, which likewise sold out in just hours.

In an email, Robin explained how creating art helped alleviate the all-too-familiar feeling of powerlessness:
"Powerlessness is a common feeling in the face of climate change. Upon learning this year is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, and that humans have struggled for a half-century to make meaningful change, I felt defeated. I wanted to make a work that embodied this grief, but also expressed the will to change. We have the choice to shift our intentions toward addressing this dire threat. The current pandemic is a harrowing reminder of just how connected we are. There is no avoiding a crisis that affects the entire planet."

We couldn’t be more grateful to have earned the support of so many passionate, dedicated individuals willing to give their time, energy and resources to protecting our planet.
