This isn't how I wanted to start the month, friend. I just met with my finance team, and there’s no easy way to say this: We’re falling dangerously short of our 24-hour summer membership goal. 

And to make matters worse, we’re also at risk of being outspent by the GOP. Republicans know this race will determine Senate control – and they’re doing everything they can to defeat me, including spending record-breaking amounts on attack ads.

We need to keep up if we're going to win. That’s why we still need 2,801 more Team Sherrod members to activate their memberships before midnight to get back on track. Will you chip in $5 now to help us get there?

Friend, I wouldn't ask if it weren't urgent. What we raise now – not in November – will decide whether or not we keep this seat and our Democratic majority. And with everything from the Dignity of Work to reproductive freedom on the line, Democrats can't afford to lose even one seat this fall. Keeping the Senate blue really is our last firewall against the MAGA agenda.

Unlike my self-funding opponent, I can't write my campaign million-dollar checks. I'm running a true grassroots campaign, which means I'm counting on folks like you chipping in to get us across the finish line.

So please, friend, I'm personally asking: Will you rush $5 or more right now to help us reach our summer membership goal, win in Ohio, and keep the Senate blue?
