Recently, national headlines have been dominated by Democrats' transparent attempts to redefine the Biden-Harris Administration's record on critical issues that have negatively impacted our country, from inflation and a shrinking middle-class to increased crime and open borders. Americans have been paying attention and understand the damage that has been done. Please continue reading to learn more about my efforts on your behalf.
Stopping Government Overreach: In a desperate attempt to thwart the will of the people, the Biden-Harris Administration announced its desire to force its radical agenda by changing the Supreme Court system that has successfully guided our country since its founding. Democrats are trying to cling to power and install justices who will sign off on their relentless unconstitutional power grab. Democrats want unfettered power, not a government of checks and balances. Thankfully, we have a Republican majority in the House that will stop this dangerous redesign of our fundamental government institutions.
Securing our Border: Last Sunday, an illegal immigrant shot and wounded a Texas police officer in just the latest sign of how Border Czar Kamala Harris’ failed Far Left Democrat open borders agenda jeopardizes the safety and security of every American. This illegal alien was released under the Biden-Harris Open Borders policy and was free to continue committing crimes here in our country. The Biden-Harris Administration has failed to remove 99.7% of the illegal immigrants released into the United States. In total, more than 9.9 million illegal aliens have entered our country under the Biden-Harris Administration.
We have to stop the insanity, restore the rule of law and secure our border!
Protecting Children: I was thrilled to see the Senate companion to my Kids Online Safety Act move forward in the legislative process and pass out of the Senate last week. We need to implement commonsense protections to empower parents and better protect kids online. Click here to learn more about how my bill will help achieve this important goal.
Demanding Accountability: The taxpayer funded $42 billion BEAD plan to expand the internet is a huge boondoggle. President Biden put Vice President Harris in charge of this program in 2021 and 992 days later, not one person has been connected. Meanwhile, many of my constituents have been waiting for this funding to secure reliable internet services in their communities. Through my work on the Energy and Commerce Committee, I will continue to demand the transparency and accountability that Americans deserve.
Restoring Fiscal Sanity: Record high inflation experienced as a result of the Biden Harris economy is hurting all Americans and causing retirement plans to be delayed. While all Americans are hurting as a result of Biden-Harris failed economic policies, seniors are taking the brunt of the impact. I’ve sponsored legislation that would recalculate the Cost Of Living Adjustment formula to better reflect the financial realities facing seniors because I know they need relief. Under the Biden administration, the national debt has surged by over $6.5 trillion and is now over $35 trillion. We’ve got to restore fiscal sanity and rein in spending.

I am fortunate to have a team of dedicated staff who regularly attend events throughout our community, especially when I am required to be in Washington, DC. Through their collective efforts, I am better able to stay connected to the issues that matter most to my constituents. As part of my commitment to developing a better understanding of the issues facing constituents in Citrus, Hernando and Pasco counties, members of my team attended several events last week. My team attended the groundbreaking of the new Student Life Center & Dormitory at the Word of Life Bible College in Pasco County.
My team also participated in the dedication of the Batten Family's new home as part of the Habitat for Humanity program.
Additionally, my team celebrated the recent anniversary of Grand Living Senior Center in Citrus County.
