The Balter Bulletin - Friday, April 24, 2020
Friends, thank you for continuing to stay in touch with our campaign. Staying connected is more important than ever during these difficult times.
I'm pleased to share with you some of the recent developments as our campaign continues to move forward.
- Dana
P.S. Make sure to follow all the CDC guidelines for preventing and containing COVID-19 here: www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
Making and Delivering Masks for the Community
On April 14, we delivered the first batch of face masks made by Team Dana supporters to the Hillside Agencies. They went to a care facility in Auburn. And today, we delivered our second batch to the Near Westside Initiative in Syracuse to be distributed to households in one of the most under-resourced neighborhoods in the district. We need to keep frontline workers and families safe and stop the spread of COVID-19.
The next delivery will be to the hospital in Oswego, where there is great need. If you’d like to help make masks, sign up here: [link removed]
Our first Virtual Town Hall!
On April 16, Dana held her first virtual town hall -- and was thrilled to be joined by more than 120 people!
We talked about the response to COVID-19, healthcare, the climate crisis, money in politics, and local agriculture.

We're so grateful to everyone who joined our discussion and brought their questions, thoughts, and ideas to the table. Town hall meetings have been Dana's favorite part of running for Congress and she's glad she was able to have a substantive online conversation while practicing social distancing.
Excited for our Virtual Concert on April 29!
While we continue to practice social distancing, it doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun as a community. That’s why this coming Wednesday, Team Balter is hosting a virtual concert, featuring performances from 5 musicians from across central and western New York.
The fun kicks off at 7:00 pm. Tickets start at just $10 -- RSVP here: [link removed]
Important updates on Absentee Voting for the Primary
In early May, voters who have already requested an absentee ballot will receive theirs in the mail. There's still plenty of time to get an absentee ballot. Earlier this month, Governor Cuomo announced that those wishing to vote by absentee ballot because of COVID-19 concerns may select "temporary illness” on the absentee ballot application. To request an absentee ballot or if you have any questions regarding your registration status, visit your county board of elections website (Cayuga, Onondaga, Oswego, Wayne).
We will be in touch soon with further updates about our push to make sure everyone in the 24th District has the information and resources they need to vote.
Polling shows Dana with the momentum
With just under two months now until the primary, we're very encouraged by polling that gives Dana an incredible 43-point lead.
This poll shows that Dana has a winning message with voters in our district -- and that they're ready for a strong progressive nominee with a demonstrated history of motivating turnout.
We know that this is the result of hard work and grassroots supporters like you who have stepped up to elevate Dana's voice and candidacy from day one. From our dedicated volunteers to folks who have decided to get involved in politics for the first time, the foundation of our campaign has always been individual people who want to see a fairer country and more accountable government. Today, our movement is stronger than it's ever been.
Thank you for all you've done and continue to do!
Dana Balter is a fearless advocate for central and western New York, running for Congress in the 24th district to ensure that everyone gets a fair shot at success.
