Earlier this month, Wisconsinites were forced to make an impossible choice between their health and their right to vote in the middle of this pandemic. It was an unfair, disgraceful act of voter suppression on the part of Republicans in the state legislature all the way up to the Supreme Court.
We learned a critical lesson that day: Republicans will stop at nothing to make it harder for folks to exercise their right to vote, which means we must ensure that every American can vote-by-mail in the 2020 election and beyond.
In Colorado, John Hickenlooper got it done. As governor, he signed vote-by-mail into law, and ever since, folks in his state have been able to safely vote from home. John proved these reforms work and is now advocating to expand vote-by-mail to the rest of the nation — this is exactly the kind of leadership we need in the Senate.
