John,
Earlier this spring, the Biden-Harris administration issued a final rule that protects people's personal medical records from law enforcement. This means that if someone gets an abortion, receives any other type of reproductive care, or tracks their menstrual cycle in an app, those medical records cannot be used against them — even if they had to travel out of state to access that care.
This rule received widespread, bipartisan support in Congress. However, a small and vocal minority of 28 members of Congress wrote to Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra, asking him to withdraw the proposed rule "immediately." One of those 28 members is Sen. JD Vance (OH), the Republican Donald Trump hand-picked as his vice presidential running mate.
It can't be overstated, John: JD Vance's anti-choice extremism poses a massive threat to millions of Americans nationwide. As one of eight Republican senators essentially advocating for reproductive surveillance by state law enforcement agencies, he has proven exactly how draconian his agenda is — and why we need him as far from the White House as possible.
That's why EMILYs List has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, a pro-choice leader who will never back down in the fight for reproductive autonomy. Donate now to help DEFEAT anti-choice extremists like Vance at the ballot box this November:
