Hi, John -- We hope that you’re doing well and staying healthy during this time. As we wrap up our first full month working remotely in order to practice safe social distancing, we wanted to fill you in on some April campaign updates: → Last weekend, our team was proud to release a Southwest Washington coronavirus resource guide that is accessible on our website and on social media. The guide compiles local, state, and national resources for health care, mental health, domestic violence assistance, unemployment, small businesses food and bill assistance, as well as volunteer opportunities to help our community if you are healthy and able. Feel free to email us back directly if there are any additional resources we should add! → We’re humbled to be able to give back to our community. Earlier this week, Team Long stopped by the Clark County Foodbank for a volunteer shift packing boxes. (Check out Carolyn below!) You can find additional volunteer opportunities on our Southwest Washington coronavirus resource guide! → Throughout this month, we’ve hosted multiple Online Town Halls and Roundtable Discussions with Carolyn and a crew of experts. And that’s not all -- we’re hosting another Facebook Live Town Hall this Saturday, April 25th, at 1:00pm. You can submit your questions ahead of time here. → We also made sure to check-in on the folks who matter most, folks like you. John, now more than ever, it’s imperative that we look out for our neighbors -- and part of that means ensuring everyone’s voice is elevated during this trying time. If you’re unable to make our Facebook Live Town Hall, you can also just let us know how you’re doing by clicking here. → Just yesterday, we announced that you can sign up to get a yard sign once the “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” Order has been lifted. John, due to the “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order, we’ve paused yard sign distribution. But once it is safe to do so, we will be fulfilling all yard sign orders and will arrange distribution as soon as possible. Let us know if you want a lawn sign by clicking here! As we celebrate that our team has nimbly acclimated to new terrain on the campaign trail, we’re also reminded of the fights we still have ahead of us -- on expanding affordable health care for all, lowering the cost of prescription drugs, and fighting for a government that works for people, not corporations. There’s no question that we’ve a long road ahead of us over the next six months. But it’s these inflection points that remind us of the importance of strong leadership, that remind us that shaping progress is a process. And, John, there’s nobody else we’d rather have fighting right alongside us as we work towards a better future for Southwest Washington. With gratitude and strength -- thank you for all that you’ve done and for all that you’ll do. Onwards, -- Everyone on Team Long |
