Dear John,
It was a busy week, but I’m back to keep you in the loop on how I am fighting for our conservative values.
It was wonderful to be in Saint Cloud last Saturday for President Donald J. Trump’s Save America campaign rally. Patriots filled the Herb Brooks Arena with infectious energy. I saw and heard it firsthand: the MAGA movement is energized and ready to defeat Kamala Harris and the Democrats. President Trump and future Vice President J.D. Vance made it clear that a President Kamala Harris would mean more of the same: open borders, lawlessness in our streets, and support for defunding the police.
But one moment from Saturday’s rally truly stood out above the rest. Shannon Owen, the widow of Pope County Deputy Josh Owen, who was shot and killed in the line of duty last year, spoke on stage and shared her heartbreaking story. It was deeply moving and emotional. You can watch her full speech at this link. I had the opportunity to meet with Shannon Owen and promised her I will always do right by law enforcement and their families. Every time officers put on their uniforms and leave for duty, they face the prospect of never returning home to their loved ones. Their courage is a stark reminder of why we need to support our heroes in uniform and elect a president who will never abandon them when they need it most.
I am proud to support and help lead the bipartisan effort to designate the bald eagle as our National Bird. It is a symbol of our freedom, strength and independence—and deserves the honor of officially representing everything we stand for. As a representative of Minnesota, home to one of the largest populations of bald eagles, I look forward to seeing this bill pass in the House, as it did in the Senate, and being signed into law.
As always, please contact my office if you have any questions about my record or my votes, or if there is anything we can help with. Thank you for your continued support!
