President Biden and Vice President Harris just announced endorsements for
major Supreme Court reform—including supporting 18-year term limits for
justices and bringing an enforceable code of conduct to the court.^1 This
is a huge step in rebalancing the MAGA-packed court and ensuring that the
court represents the American people, not the right wing and corporations.

members of Congress make this happen. Will you sign the petition to demand
term limits for Supreme Court justices?
No one should have unchecked power for life. Forty-nine out of the 50 U.S.
states—and every other major democracy in the world—have term limits,
elections, or mandatory retirement ages for top judges.^2 The highest
court in the United States should be no different.
Our Supreme Court is facing a crisis of accountability and legitimacy. We
live in a time when our Supreme Court is full of scandals. Justices like
Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas have shown a blatant disregard for the
public's interest, engaging in questionable actions like accepting
millions of dollars worth of gifts from right-wing millionaires and
unethical behavior that betrays the trust placed in them.^3,4 We deserve
Supreme Court justices who demonstrate independent and fair rule of the
law, to regain the public's confidence and repair the state of our
democracy.

Term limits will allow for the court to have fresh perspectives that will
represent the American people and ensure corrupt judges cannot remain on
the court for life. Our current system of unbounded tenure for justices
allows a single justice to shape the direction of the law for generations,
without regard for the evolving views of our society. The current court's
views don’t represent the American people—most Americans support abortion
rights, but the court still overturned Roe v. Wade and left millions
without access to abortion.^5

tenures, and don't have an enforceable ethics code. We need 18-year term
limits NOW to rebalance the court and ensure it represents the people.
