Friend, In the past few weeks, we have seen growing racial disparities in COVID-19 infection rates – Black and Brown folks are dying from the virus with alarming frequency. The Washington Post reported that in Chicago, Black residents have died at a rate six times more than white residents. Of the city’s 118 reported deaths, nearly 70% were from the Black community. This is a humanitarian crisis, and we are depending on your generosity to help save lives. Last Monday, Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter and Square, donated $1 million to support Masks For The People, an effort to ensure that those most vulnerable in Black and Brown communities have access to masks, hand sanitizer, and personal protective equipment. In this time of crisis, we are asking everyone who is able to stand with us by donating today. |
