John,
Michigan’s Democratic primary election is this Tuesday, August 6 and we’re making sure each of our endorsed ceasefire candidates has what they need to win.
Dr. Pamela Pugh is running in a crowded Democratic primary for an open congressional seat and she’s the only candidate in her race that has demanded an immediate and permanent ceasefire.
For years, I’ve worked alongside Pamela in our shared struggle for human rights at home and abroad. I’ve seen firsthand the work Dr. Pugh did to help clean up the Flint water crisis, and how she stood alongside Detroit’s schoolchildren in the landmark Right to Literacy lawsuit, demanding quality education for all.
Pamela is a lifelong education and public health advocate who I need fighting by my side in Congress.
Dr. Pugh’s team is hosting Get Out The Vote call shifts now through Election Day this Tuesday. Click here to sign-up and help this fearless champion for the people win her critical Democratic primary.
Pamela is a leader in our work to create a true multi-racial democracy where marginalized people and communities not only survive, but thrive.
She’s fighting for investments in public education and a clean sustainable environment, not bombs and incarceration.
The American people want their tax dollars to go to life-affirming institutions and services, and they want their elected representatives to fight for them rather than for corporations or weapons contractors. We need to elect more leaders with those priorities.
If you can’t volunteer between now and Election Day this Tuesday, donate directly to Pamela’s congressional campaign and help send a member of our ceasefire movement to serve alongside me in Congress.
Together, we’re fighting back against an unjust status quo, seeking justice and dignity for all.
In solidarity,
Rashida
