John,
Recently, four infants were abandoned in or near dumpsters within the span of a week in Texas.
Three of these precious children were found in time and lived, but the fourth sadly has passed.
One of the children – a baby boy – was discovered inside a dumpster with his umbilical cord still attached. A passerby reportedly heard cries coming from the dumpster, where the baby was discovered by EMS inside a tied trash bag.
According to news reports, the child’s 18-year-old mother has been charged with abandoning a child without the intent to return. Heartbreaking video footage shows EMS discovering the baby and wrapping him in a blanket after taking him out of the trash bag.

Although the baby is now in good condition, it raises the dire need for awareness of Safe Haven Laws – parameters where every state in the U.S. has certain time frames under which parents may surrender a newborn to authorities with no penalties.
These stories are tragic and heartbreaking, and the sobering reality we must grieve as a society is this: Our children are being treated as trash.
John, we must help people see the value of human life and the abundance of help and resources available for expectant mothers. These abandonments are tragic and unnecessary.
Texas is a state that contains Safe Haven Baby Boxes ([link removed] ) and a “Baby Moses Law.” ([link removed] ) Both are in place to protect babies from being abandoned in this way.
Every new life is beyond precious.
It is an evil lie to say it would be better to kill a child through abortion or abandon them to a lonely death rather than bring them into a life of poverty, abuse, or whatever the situation may be.
Help is available. Knowledge about this help just needs to be spread to every potential mother and father in our country.
Let’s continue to work hard to help all parents become aware of the help that is available to them, whether that means they become enabled to care for their children or pass them safely to someone else who can.
Life is always worth it.
