I want to take a minute to talk to you all about Project 2025 — essentially a MAGA blueprint for how they're going to take over the government if Donald Trump is elected president.

You’ve likely seen people talking about it all over your newsfeeds and your TV screens, but there’s one part that's not getting enough attention: the census. 

If Project 2025 is implemented, political actors would be installed to do what government officials have always done. The constitution says once every 10 years, the government shall count every person in the country, which plays a critical role in drawing state legislative and congressional maps — and it’s always been nonpartisan actors in charge of that count.

Instead, the Project 2025 agenda wants to put forward specific individual partisan actors to decide who gets counted and who doesn't. 

John, it's a pretty scary provision.

They're clearly trying to reshape the census — whether it be for map drawing and redistricting, or allocating funds from the government.
