VICTORY! Google Enhances Protections Against Deepfake and AI-Generated Pornography

In a significant stride towards combating image-based sexual abuse (IBSA), Google has announced major updates to its policies and processes to protect individuals from sexually explicit "deepfake" and AI-generated content.

These key updates include:

👉Making it easier for survivors to get "deepfake" images removed, including duplicate images

👉Demoting "deepfake" pornography and websites with a high volume of removal requests, so they appear less prominently in search results

👉When a survivor successfully requests the removal of an explicit deepfake image, Google will now aim to filter all explicit results on similar searches from the survivor

Google reached out to NCOSE directly to let us know about these changes, reflecting the years of advocacy which preceded this victory!

THANK YOU for helping us move the most powerful corporations to prioritize safety!
