On August 9, 2014, Mike Brown was killed by a white police officer in Ferguson, MO, sparking a national movement to protect Black lives.
As an ordained pastor and registered nurse, Cori Bush was on the front lines, providing care to injured protesters and bridging divides within the community. For more than 400 days, she stood with Michael Brown Jr.'s parents. As a representative, Cori took their fight to Congress to demand systemic change.
Cori’s opponent promised he would secure justice for the Brown family. When he failed, he left the entire Brown family feeling disappointed and lied to.
