Hi folks, it's Ilhan Omar.

I'm reaching out today to respectfully ask you to split a contribution — of $5 or anything you can — between my friend Alexandria and my re-election campaign today.

Here's why:

You probably already know that when I first ran for Congress in 2018, like AOC, I made the decision to reject all donations from special-interest lobbyists and corporate PACs.

At the time, a lot of people saw it as a bold move. But to us, it was barely a decision at all.

My team and I felt that the only way we could build a grassroots, people-powered movement that stuck true to our progressive values was to lead by example.

That started by funding our campaigns the right way — together.

Since then, hundreds of thousands of supporters have stood by our sides and proven the doubters wrong. Together we've all shown that a mass movement of everyday working people could fund winning campaigns $5, $25, or $50 at a time.

As a result, together — whether in Minnesota or New York — we've taken on millions of dollars in outside super PAC spending, bigoted attacks from the far-right, and have both been top targets for the wealthy and powerful who want to see us fail.

Time and time again, we've fought back and won.

Being able to do that this way requires an incredible amount of grassroots support, and a huge portion of our resources come from donations made to emails just like this one. That's true for both me and for Alexandria, and it's why I'm asking you today:
