*Notice to State Scallop License holders: *
Good afternoon,
This is just a reminder that the next Scallop Advisory Council meeting to discuss and make recommendations for the upcoming 2024-2025 scallop season is next week:
* *Thursday, August 8th @ 4pm; Jeff's Catering in Brewer, ME *
A presentation on the recent survey changes and the results from this April's annual Scallop survey will be on the agenda. DMR staff will also present management options for Zone 2 to discuss and make preferred recommendations for next season in addition to recommendations for Zones 1 and 3. Recommendations are then provided to the Commissioner's for consideration during the upcoming proposed rulemaking package.
Currently, the SAC has a vacancy for a Zone 1 Diver and two vacancies for a primary scallop dealer. If you're interested in participating in the fishery on the SAC, please come to the meeting and speak with Melissa and Council members.
Full agenda is attached.
~ Melissa
