Senate Republicans Offering Paid Spring Internships
|
The Indiana Senate Republican Caucus is offering paid spring-semester internships in our communications, information technology, legal, legislative, page and policy offices during the 2025 session of the Indiana General Assembly.
Qualified candidates may be of any major and must be at least a college sophomore. Recent college graduates, as well as graduate and law school students, are also encouraged to apply.
Interns earn a $900 biweekly stipend and benefit from scholarship and academic credit opportunities, professional development, community involvement and networking.
Senate internships are full-time positions at the Statehouse in downtown Indianapolis that typically begin with a mandatory orientation in late December or early January and conclude at the end of the legislative session in April 2025.

Welcoming IU President to Huntington County
Last week, I had the great privilege of welcoming Indiana University President Pam Whitten to Huntington County during her tour across the state.
As a recent graduate from one of IU's many outstanding masters programs, I want to thank President Whitten for her commitment to improving higher education and engaging with communities to better understand their wants and needs.

Programs and Grants for Local Government
|
Districts across Indiana can utilize state-funded grants and other programs to maintain and improve their communities. Highlighted below is
one of many grants and programs offered or administered by the state of Indiana.
Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) - Community Corrections and Justice Reinvestment Grant
This program encourages counties to develop a coordinated local corrections-criminal justice system and provide effective alternatives to imprisonment at the state level.
Grants may be used for the establishment and operation of community corrections programs and problem-solving courts, as well as additional funding for probation departments, pre-trial services programs, prosecutor's diversion programs and jail treatment programs.
In fiscal year 2023, Senate District 17 received more than $1.8 million from the state through the Community Corrections and Justice Reinvestment Grant.
