Irving, TX - I recently met with fellow North Texans from J.P. Morgan, which is headquartered in Dallas. They play an integral role in Texas’ economy, small business lending, and community projects.

It was great to chat with thousands of members of our community this week during our Telephone Town Hall. I appreciated the chance to provide an update on my work in Congress, services available through our office, district programs, and answer questions and discuss the many pressing issues facing our nation. Special thanks to Keller Mayor Armin Mizani and Grapevine Chamber of Commerce CEO RaDonna Hessel for joining us to discuss our upcoming North Texas Job Fair.

I also stood up for Texas communities by voting to condemn the border czar, Vice President Harris, for failing in her duty to secure the southern border and endangering the American people. Click here or on the picture below to watch my remarks on the House floor.

I recently voted for the Water Resources Development Act to make investments in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ key infrastructure projects. This bill will help our nation grow its economy and strengthen our supply chain by improving our nation’s ports and harbors, inland waterways, and flood management systems

Instead of supporting small businesses during times of painful inflation, the Small Business Administration (SBA) is ignoring their needs and instead focusing resources on partisan voter registration efforts to support Democrat campaigns. I recently held a Small Business oversight hearing with a key SBA official involved in this electioneering effort and I questioned her about this blatant misuse of taxpayer resources.

I also had the chance to meet with the National Retail Federation where I learned more about retail impact in Texas-24. The industry contributes more than 260,000 jobs and over $27 billion to the GDP in our district alone. I'm glad I got to see a fellow Texan and Texas-24 resident from Coppell while I was there as well.

I enjoyed seeing some fellow North Texans from United Way of Metropolitan Dallas recently. We discussed their contributions to our community like 211 social service call centers and workforce development as well as how the child tax credit and farm bill can help fight food insecurity in our state.

I appreciated meeting with John Stanchina, the CEO of Marsh McLennan Agency, to discuss how the Ways and Means Committee has been working to extend and improve on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which is set to expire next year.

As excessive regulations and rising costs are forcing health care providers to close their doors, I helped introduce legislation to support patient access to Long Term Care Hospitals. To help these vital hospitals stay open, our bill will increase the Medicare reimbursement rates to provide greater financial stability so they can continue providing exceptional care to some of our most vulnerable populations.

It was great to catch up with Arianna Villarreal, a Texas-24 student who interned with our district office and served on our Youth Advisory Council!

It was sad to say goodbye to another D.C. summer intern and Irving native, Tori, this week. If you’re interested in interning in our D.C. or district offices you can learn more and apply on our website by clicking here.
