Project 2025 would hurt the Latino community in huge ways.

Friend,

MAGA plans for a second Donald Trump term would hurt us all, but they are especially detrimental to the Latinx community -- in other words, 40% of California's population.(1)

From a draconian deportation plan to new taxes on healthcare and groceries, Project 2025 -- the extremist plan that has been adopted as much of the Republican party platform -- would be a disaster for Latinx communities.(1)

The good news is that once Latinx voters learn about Project 2025, 71% oppose it.(2) But more than 1.5 million of our state's Latinx population are Spanish-only speakers, and half of eligible Latinx voters have limited English proficiency.(3)

We want to make sure that information about Project 2025 is accessible to all Latinx voters, which is why we want to translate a coalition Project 2025 explainer into Spanish, as well as voter engagement social media posts across platforms. This is an incredibly important project, and we need your help now to make it happen.

Will you pitch in to help us raise $5,000 in the next week to make sure we get critical election messaging out to Spanish-speaking communities in California and across the nation?

Democrats have been facing a big problem: Latino voters have shifted away from the Democratic party in record numbers, with Hispanic men trending to vote Republican in numbers not seen since the 1950s.(4)

While this is a problem nationwide, it is particularly acute in California, where Latino voters make up a huge swath of the likely voter base.(5) Every vote is crucial in November, but research shows that Democrats have not done enough to engage with Spanish-speaking voters in a consistent and culturally relevant way.

We know that 73% of Spanish-speaking adults prefer to get their news from social media.(6) By translating critical election content into Spanish, we’ll be able to distribute it broadly in those communities and counter right-wing content.

MAGA Republicans, conspiracy theorists, and other bad actors have invested heavily in spreading lies and disinformation in Spanish-speaking communities.(7) Launched last year, Americano Media is a well-funded right-wing network that aims to be the “Spanish language Fox News,” and it’s making in-roads in Spanish-speaking communities nationwide.(8)

Democrats and progressives have not done enough to counter these narratives. Fighting back starts with getting Project 2025 information translated by a trusted organization into Spanish to circulate in these communities.

Can you pitch in toward our goal of raising $5,000 in the next week to fund our emergency translation project?

Regardless of what language we speak, the color of our skin, or where we live, we all deserve to be informed voters and want to live in a country where our families can thrive. This election, we can come together and elect leaders who will listen to us and help us build the country we all deserve.

Thank you for being a part of this critical election effort.
