Iran's Aggression Continues, Threatening the U.S. and Israel

Recent actions by the Iranian regime demonstrate its continued desire to threaten America and our allies.

The U.S.-Israel Free Trade Agreement, 35 Years On: A Win-Win
The U.S.-Israel relationship strengthens both countries in a wide variety of areas. While the well-known homeland security and defense benefits are most often discussed, both countries also benefit from a robust bilateral trade relationship.

In April 1985, the United States signed a free trade agreement (FTA) with Israel—America’s first FTA with any country. Thirty-five years later, the agreement is still a cornerstone of the U.S.-Israel relationship. Its benefits to the two allies continue to grow with each passing year, having turned the United States into Israel’s largest trading partner.

Iran and Its Allies Launching Cyberattacks Against U.S. Healthcare System
As American and Israeli researchers work to combat the coronavirus, Iran and its allies have launched hacking campaigns against the U.S. healthcare system.

A

bipartisan group of U.S. senators called on top American cybersecurity officials to take immediate steps to bolster defenses, coordinate with hospitals and engage in deterrence against such attacks.

"Disinformation, disabled computers, and disrupted communications due to ransomware, denial of service attacks, and intrusions means critical lost time and diverted resources," wrote the senators in a letter to Gen. Paul Nakasone, head of the military's U.S. Cyber Command, and Christopher Krebs, the top Homeland Security Department official at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.

"During this moment of national crisis, the cybersecurity and digital resilience of our healthcare, public health, and research sectors are literally matters of life-or-death."
