Democrat,

Yesterday marked a pivotal moment for Democrats across the nation. The electronic roll call vote to select Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Presidential nominee was sent to all delegates, including New Jersey. New Jersey delegates have already proudly endorsed Harris (with the exception of our two uncommitted delegates), but let’s remember that the DNC just kicks off the work. With only 95 days to Election Day, and 49 days until ballots are mailed, we are in the home stretch of the 2024 Election and we need ALL of you to help us deliver New Jersey for Kamala Harris.

I’ll be knocking on doors, making calls, sending texts, and talking to my neighbors this year and I hope you will join me.

The excitement for Kamala Harris has clearly started rolling in New Jersey. There are Zooms happening multiple times a week with thousands of Democrats ready to organize. Next week, join NJ Latinos for Harris featuring Michelle Villegas, the National Latino Engagement Director for the Harris campaign. Sign up here! [[link removed]]

Human Services Commissioner Sarah Adelman and State Chief Innovation Officer Dave Cole unveiled a new Disability Information Hub website [[link removed]] during a virtual event marking Disability Pride Month and the 34th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA Day). The Hub, available at NJ.gov/Disabilities [[link removed]] , will act as a comprehensive resource for New Jerseyans with disabilities, their families, caregivers, and advocates, providing easy access to state services and resources.

“Across state government, our Administration has pursued equity and inclusion for individuals with disabilities, improved access to services, and strengthened support for this community. For many individuals and families, New Jersey’s Disability Information Hub will be a game-changer. Having streamlined, easy access to the State’s comprehensive collection of services and supports will put needed tools and resources in reach for countless people,” said Governor Phil Murphy . “Together, we are breaking down barriers and empowering all New Jerseyans to thrive in their communities. I commend the whole-of-government effort to uplift the State’s disability community.”

Yesterday, Paul Whelan, Evan Gershkovich (a New Jersey native), Alsu Kurmasheva, and Vladimir Kara-Murz, three American citizens and one American green-card holder who were wrongfully imprisoned in Russia, are finally returning home.
The agreement that achieved their release stands as another remarkable diplomatic accomplishment for the Biden Harris Administration. In total, the US negotiated the release of 16 individuals from Russia, including five Germans and seven Russian political prisoners. Some of these individuals have been unjustly detained for years, and all have endured profound suffering and uncertainty.
“I am grateful to our Allies who stood with us throughout tough, complex negotiations to achieve this outcome— including Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Norway, and Turkey. This is a powerful example of why it’s vital to have friends in this world whom you can trust and depend upon. Our alliances make Americans safer,” said President Biden .
