John, the NC GOP is running its most extreme candidates in modern history. There’s a lot to keep track of in the news, so I want to give you a run-down of each of them.

Mark Robinson is the GOP nominee for Governor. He’s denied the Holocaust and mass shootings, and he wants to ban abortions with no exceptions, slash LGBTQ+ protections, and reverse decades of progress on women’s rights. He makes Project 2025 look moderate.

Michele Morrow is the GOP nominee for Superintendent of Schools. She’s a January 6th insurrectionist and called for the public execution of President Obama. And her response to addressing guns in schools is placing cameras in our students’ bathrooms.

Dan Bishop is the GOP nominee for Attorney General. As a congressman, Bishop tried to overturn the 2020 election results, and now he’s running to be the top law enforcement officer of North Carolina.

And this is just the beginning, John. If any of the GOP nominees are elected in November, they will shift even further to the right – trying to yank our state along with them.

As the first Muslim woman to be elected in North Carolina, I know what it takes to win the toughest battles. That's why I'm working with folks across the state to ensure progressives win this fall.
