Dear John,

It was great to spend time at home in Minnesota this week, hearing from constituents about the issues important to them.

One issue I hear about often from constituents – especially rural Minnesotans – is affordable internet access. I’ve been focused on expanding access to broadband since I got to Congress. And this week, I introduced a bipartisan bill to expand the Affordable Connectivity Program and ensure rural communities stay connected.

Partial funding for the program expired in April, but I’ve been working across the aisle since then to restore funding for this critical program. More than 244,000 Minnesota families relied on the Affordable Connectivity Program to access reliable and affordable internet service. In the 21st century, internet access isn’t a luxury, but a necessity for starting a business, communicating with loved ones, accessing health care and education online and so much more.

My bill to restore the Affordable Connectivity Program will help ensure more Minnesotans can stay connected to our communities and economy.

I know the difference this program made for rural communities in the Second District, and I will continue to push for this bill until it is passed.

Protecting law enforcement

It was great to visit Northern Safety Technology in Apple Valley to learn more about the work they do to equip and improve the safety of law enforcement vehicles in the Second District and across the state.

Learning more about domestic violence resources

I also visited Southern Valley Alliance in Shakopee to learn more about the services they provide to survivors of domestic violence & discuss how we can work together to get resources into the hands of folks who need them.

Behind the Scenes with Rep. Craig

When constituents call our office, more often than not they’ll speak to one of our office interns. My District Office in Eagan would not be the same without our intern, Addison! She answers constituent calls and helps the team address constituent concerns with federal agencies. We appreciate her hard work to get results for the constituents of MN-02.
