Big cats have been in the news -- and in pop culture -- a lot this month. These big cats are not pets.

Sadly, across the country, thousands of lions, tigers, cheetahs, bobcats, cougars, leopards, and other big cats are caged in private zoos. Most are born into captivity, where they experience cruel treatment, are displayed for novelty, or sold for “wildlife parts.” Most of them have never known their natural habitat.

Susan has loved animals all her life and her work on their behalf has earned her the endorsement of the Humane Society Legislative Fund. The exploitive captivity of big cats is unacceptable, and Susan has co-sponsored legislation that would ban private ownership of big cats in every state.
