Tell Congress: Don’t slash my Medicare ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Dear John,

Did you see Max’s email from earlier this week? I wanted to make sure you didn’t miss it. It’s clear seniors like you need to take a firm stand against Medicare benefit cuts before votes are cast in Congress.

So please, if you haven’t yet signed our Emergency Petition to Congress, take a moment to do it now. And if you have already signed it: Thank you. You’ve taken an important step in ensuring your views are heard at the highest levels of our government. Now please consider making a donation in whatever amount you can afford, so that we can continue our crucial work on Capitol Hill to stop cuts and radical “reforms” to Medicare.

Dear John,

TELL YOUR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS:

“Don’t slash my Medicare benefits to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy or other unrelated fiscal priorities. These are my earned benefits, and they should be protected and strengthened — not cut!”

Today we celebrate Medicare’s 59th Anniversary! That’s 59 years of providing health insurance to tens of millions of retired Americans and helping to keep older Americans out of poverty.

But despite the fact that Medicare continues to be enormously successful and popular, some lawmakers in Congress are pushing to slash and privatize this program. And increasingly, Medicare Advantage is luring older Americans into privatized plans which have been caught red-handed delaying and denying patients’ medically necessary care.

Please help the National Committee take a STRONG STAND FOR YOUR MEDICARE BENEFITS by signing our Urgent Petition to Congress today! During this critical election year, help us put pressure on lawmakers to protect — not cut — Medicare!

I hear from older Americans all across the country about how it’s becoming more and more of a struggle just to make ends meet — and how without earned benefits, many older adults would be unable to put food on the table or afford their prescription drugs.

Yet, opponents of Medicare in the House and Senate are trying to ram through reckless and unfair policies that would jeopardize current and future Medicare benefits and make it harder for seniors to afford their out-of-pocket health care costs.

Incredibly, many of these same politicians are trying to extend the Trump-GOP tax cuts for the wealthy, which would add an additional $4.6 trillion to the national debt!

The National Committee is preparing to fight back against any proposal or bill that would balance the budget by forcing cuts to seniors’ earned benefits — including by privatizing this program, raising the Medicare eligibility age or creating a “fast-track commission” with the power to slash your benefits.

The fact is, Congress listens to us because they listen to you. So please add your name right now to our urgent Petition to Congress.

Sincerely,

Max Richtman
