Friend — I’m writing to you about Project 2025, the MAGA movement’s radical agenda for a potential second Trump administration. Organized by dozens of former Trump administration officials, their extreme plan would move our nation drastically backwards and be a disaster for our climate and democracy.

The Heritage Foundation, an extreme far-right think tank, has spearheaded a plan for the next Republican administration to radically transform the federal government and dismantle as many progressive policy victories as possible, including and especially climate and environmental policies. Their blueprint calls for gutting or abolishing federal agencies, replacing civil service experts with far-right political appointees, eliminating environmental standards, and dramatically rolling back reproductive rights and rights for LGBTQ+ Americans.

|
- Replace thousands of nonpartisan civil servants with far-right political appointees, including those responsible for climate science.
- Dramatically increase destructive oil and gas drilling and fracking on public lands, on our coastlines, and in the Arctic.
- “Dismantle” the National Weather Service.
- Radically gut the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), especially its efforts to safeguard people against pollution and climate change.
- Eliminate offices within the Energy Department that focus on renewable energy, climate technology, and energy technology research.
- Eliminate energy efficiency standards for household appliances that save Americans money and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
- Relocate federal agencies like the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), effectively forcing out career civil service staff and other conservation experts.

Believe it or not, I’m only scratching the surface here, Friend. Project 2025 would also dramatically threaten free and fair elections, empowering election deniers and giving Trump and his loyalists the authority to overturn election results they don’t like.

The only way to stop Project 2025 is to keep MAGA lawmakers out of office. To do that, we need pro-environment candidates to win BIG in November. That’s why LCV Victory Fund is organizing a massive field organizing campaign through Election Day to turn out environmental voters and elect pro-climate, pro-democracy leaders to the House, Senate, and White House.

|
Thanks for standing with us, Friend. With your help, I’m confident that we can win in November for people and our planet.
