Hi John,
Last week, Columbus Stand Up hosted our second community conversation on climate justice in partnership with Green Columbus.
Many attendees said this was the first time they had heard details about renewable energy and utility policy. The discussion made clear that the climate crisis presents both tremendous challenges and opportunities, and our community is eager to address both. Specifically, the group wants to work on connecting young people to job opportunities in renewable energy.
We also heard from Columbus City Council President Shannon Hardin about the LinkedUs initiative on the ballot this November that would bring rapid bus transit to Central Ohio for the first time.
As a follow-up, we’ll be hosting a virtual organizing call with Green Columbus on September 18, 2024, at 7 pm to discuss the next steps for environmental justice efforts
