Hi, I wanted to make sure you saw this alarming update:
For just the third time in the last 20 years, a famine has been declared — this time in Sudan, where over a year of conflict has led to a mass displacement crisis.
Women and girls will bear the brunt of this hunger crisis. Please rush an emergency gift, if you're able, to deliver lifesaving care to women and girls who are hungry in Sudan and beyond: usaforunfpa.org/?form=FUNUCVJYJTW
Thank you,

Subject: Experts just sounded the alarm in Sudan
Experts just sounded the alarm in Sudan.
According to the global authority on food security, the war in Sudan and restrictions on aid deliveries have caused an official famine in at least one camp for displaced people in Sudan.
This marks just the third time a famine determination has been made since the system was set up 20 years ago.
An estimated 750,000 people in Sudan are at risk of starving to death in the coming weeks and 2.5 million people could die of hunger by October.
During times of conflict and crisis, women often eat last and eat least. In desperation, harmful practices like child marriage skyrocket. Amidst rampant sexual violence and displacement, women and girls in Sudan will now bear the brunt of famine conditions that are expected to persist for months to come.
We cannot look away from this crisis. Will you rush an emergency gift to deliver lifesaving humanitarian aid to women and girls impacted by famine in Sudan, and wherever women and girls are hungry and need care?
This is not hyperbole, and we sincerely thank you for not looking away from this crisis.
