About Our Speakers:
John Bowman is the Kentucky Senior Campaign Organizer for Dream.Org. He
works to reshape drug policies in Kentucky by engaging with impacted
individuals, harm reduction specialists, law enforcement, businesses, and
faith communities. John is in long-term recovery and formerly
incarcerated, showcasing his resilience and commitment to advocacy. His
work in addiction recovery and criminal justice reform is making a
significant impact.
Dr. William Cooke is a physician specializing in Family Medicine,
Addiction Medicine, and HIV Medicine. He has been recognized nationally
for his compassionate care, including being named Family Physician of the
Year. Dr. Cooke is the author of "Canary in the Coal Mine," which explores
health equity through the 2015 Scott County HIV outbreak. He frequently
speaks on health equity, healthcare reform, and the opioid crisis.
