July 22, was the hottest day ever recorded on Earth. It broke the record set on Sunday, July 21.1,2 To build a livable future, we must transition off all fossil fuels. Yet asset managers on Wall Street are using our savings to fund new fracked gas exports, known as LNG, which pollute our climate and communities across the Gulf South.
To stop the expansion of dirty and dangerous fossil fuels, we must stop the pipeline of money flowing to greedy oil and gas corporations. Add your personalized comment now to demand asset managers stop funding the climate crisis and neighborhood-wrecking fossil fuel projects!

Friend, Lake Charles in Louisiana is surrounded by miles of shoreline for fishing and recreation, hosts 45 annual festivals, and is home to a tight-knit, multi-generational community.
But thanks to the fossil fuel industry, Lake Charles is also a hot spot for polluted and toxic air. The entire region is littered with a network of pipelines, more than two dozen massively polluting fossil fuel and petrochemical companies, and dangerous LNG plants.
For too long, polluting corporations have treated Southwest Louisiana as a sacrifice zone. And now, they're proposing another LNG terminal called CP2, which received initial permits last month. If built, this carbon bomb would emit the equivalent of 46 coal-fired power plants and poison the air and water local families rely on.
But the thing is, oil and gas companies can't build these LNG export terminals without funding. That's where we come in.
Help block CP2 and other LNG export terminals by demanding asset managers stop investing in deadly fossil fuels!

Asset managers, the companies responsible for handling investments and retirement savings for individuals and corporations, pour billions of our savings every year into new fossil fuel construction. These resources have helped build out fracked gas LNG plants across Louisiana and the Gulf South, in a region so polluted it is commonly dubbed "cancer alley."
Gas exports are one of the last lifelines for struggling oil and gas companies. Fracked gas has never been profitable. If we can stop funding for LNG, it will be another nail in the coffin for this destructive industry and a crucial step to instead building a future powered by clean and renewable energy.
Join us in urging asset managers to invest our savings into a livable future instead of fossil fuels that pollute our communities.

Families nationwide deserve to live in communities powered by clean, renewable energy, with green spaces for children to play, fish, and enjoy natural resources and breathable clean air. While we can't prevent every coming heat wave, hurricane, and other disasters, we can begin to turn the tide. Our retirement savings should go into building a livable future, not towards growing profits for fossil fuel CEOs.
Will you help make that vision a reality? Demand asset managers stop using our money to fund dangerous LNG and other polluting oil and gas.

P.S. Throughout the Summer, we're sharing different ways to stop LNG export facilities from ever seeing the light of day. In our last email, we pressured the federal government, which can approve or deny these dangerous facilities. If you missed it, read that email here.
