British Transplant Games
Until Sun 4 August Various venues
The Westfield Health British Transplant Games will be taking place at venues across Nottingham this weekend. This inclusive event aims to raise awareness of the life-saving benefits of organ donation, and encourages transplant recipients to stay active post-transplant.
Athletes ranging from two to 88 years old, from over 60 hospital teams across the UK, will represent their transplant unit with the support of friends, family and volunteers in 24 sporting events. Wollaton Hall & Deer Park hosts the 2k and 5k Donor Run on Saturday evening from 6.30pm - all are invited to watch and cheer on the participants!
It's more important than ever to make a decision about the gift of life. It takes just two minutes to confirm that you want to be an organ donor, and you could save up to nine lives. Every day, someone dies because not enough organs are being donated. Confirm your decision on the NHS Organ Donor Register. It's the best thing you'll do today - visit www.organdonation.nhs.uk.
