I Need Accurate Coronavirus Information. Where Can I Get It?

By: Bruce Hausknecht

The governmental response to the coronavirus pandemic has involved all 50 states, plus the federal government. You can find all kinds of questionable “facts” and opinions from the media and on social media. Where does one go to get accurate information about stay-at-home orders, back-to-work orders, guidelines on social distancing and statistics on where your state or the nation is at with regard to fighting the disease?

Generally speaking, you can locate the best information from the offices of the 50 governors, plus the mayor’s office of Washington, D.C., and from the official White House website. Also, each state and the federal government typically have another website dedicated solely to the pandemic.

CDC Director Warns Second Wave of Coronavirus Could be More Deadly
By: Brittany Raymer

Recently, Dr. Robert Redfield, the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), announced that a second wave of the coronavirus pandemic could coincide with the flu season and put an enormous strain on the health care system.

In an interview with The Washington Post, Redfield shared, “There’s a possibility that the assault of the virus on our nation next winter will actually be more difficult than the one we just went through. And when I’ve said this to others, they kind of put their head back, they don’t understand what I mean.”

“We’re going to have the flu epidemic and the coronavirus epidemic at the same time,” he said.

Harvard Professor Calls Homeschooling ‘Dangerous,’ Proposes Ban
By: Zachary Mettler

A Harvard University professor is proposing a ban on homeschooling because it allegedly “violates a child’s rights,” and is “dangerous.

Professor Elizabeth Bartholet, the Morris Wasserstein Public Interest Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, was interviewed for an article in Harvard Magazine on the problems of homeschooling. Among other reasons, she alleged that homeschooling parents were racist and sexist. Bartholet also alleged that when parents homeschool their children, the kids are more likely to be abused.

“Effectively, people can homeschool who’ve never gone to school themselves, who don’t read or write themselves,” Bartholet also argued.

By: Jim Daly

With no people in the pews, there’s no offering plate to pass, and giving has dropped significantly. But the pastor still needs to feed his family. The church still needs to pay the utility bill.

So, where are the funds going to come from if the people who usually drop their offering in the plate don’t adjust their method of giving – or have no job from which to donate?

My friend and former NFL tight end Benjamin Watson recently joined me to discuss this very really challenge.

Phyllis Schlafly
New Series Botches the Story of Phyllis Schlafly

By: Glenn Stanton

Phyllis Schlafly is the subject of a major new series streaming on FX/Hulu entitled Mrs. America. Its executive producer is Cate Blanchett and she plays the lead role as Mrs. Schlafly. This series’ creation and showing is important, given Schlafly’s significance to contemporary American political culture.

Schlafly became one of the first political powerhouses for pro-family causes in America. But she didn’t start out as a firebrand who changed our nation in many positive ways. She was a humble, unassuming work-a-day mother and wife, minding her own business running a household and all the other things mothers and wives do. Her concern, as a woman, was how the burgeoning radical feminist movement was reshaping what it meant to be a woman.
