OAC's Vice-Chair, Patty Nece, JD, encourages patients not to avoid seeking care because of weight bias if they are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19.
 

COVID-19 Advocacy Update:

The OAC and ASMBS (American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery) have sent more than 100 letters to insurance providers throughout the past five weeks, asking them to temporarily suspend pre-bariatric surgery requirements for patients in medical weight management programs during these uncertain times.
